Radios for Africa!

John Summerville and Andy Napier return to Central Oregon July 16-17 to ask for your help to purchase radios for Africa.  Radios are given to villagers so they can listen to the gospel programming from one of Trans World Radios many stations.

 

Africa's Preferred Means of Entertainment & Information


Radio is cheap and affordable. Radio is convenient and easy to use anytime any day. And it requires no data or electricity unlike the internet. Many parts of Africa do not have internet coverage yet. Radio preserves linguistic culture. Some people are fast forgetting their language. With the help of radio, some programs are being anchored on local languages making it easier for them to understand. Radio, because it is affordable, is the perfect tool to use for those who cannot read or write.

KNLR broadcasts in HD (Hybrid Digital).

If you have an HD radio, it will automatically tune to the HD-1 channel and you will hear KNLR in near CD quality.  This is especially noticeable in moving vehicles where you sometimes get static, pops and hiss.  HD table radios are available in some stores and on line.  For more information call us at 541-389-8873.

HD also gives us the ability to broadcast a second  channel.  KNLR HD-2 is Spanish.   If you do not have an HD radio you can also hear the Spanish programming on our translator at 106.1 FM
